Vine House restaurant is the newest restaurant that just recently opened their doors to the public. It offers a garden-themed restaurant perfect for hang outs with group of friends. With hanging garden lights and picnic benches outside, the place is picture-perfect and sets a nice scene and ambiance to dine and relax.

They offer entertainment by providing an area to play darts. It’s a great way to kill time while waiting for the food to be served on your table. The place is spacious and they set up tents if it gets rainy so you don’t have to worry. The place is quite hidden so it’s a little difficult to go to but it does give you a perfect place to chill and provide a picnic-style or a backyard party ambiance.

They offer a large variety of food options on their menu. They provide steaks, pastas, burgers, finger foods, offer alcoholic beverages, and coffee too. They serve mainly Filipino dishes.

How to Get There
Vine House is located at Aparente Block 2, Kayumanggi Street 022, General Santos City, Philippines.
It is open 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM everyday.
Payment method is Cash and Gcash.
The Place and The Ambiance
The place is very hip and mostly catered to the younger generation. With it’s cool garden-themed aesthetic and picnic table setting, it is a fun new place to hang out with friends.
I can say it’s a nice spot to enjoy a bottle or two beers on a busy workday when you and your work friends want to destress.

On a quiet day, it can be an intimate place to share a drink of wine or cocktails with a date.
The Spending
The price is very decent for the quantity of food serving. Their menu selection offers a wide variety of food. You can choose steak if you want a steak date night, but it does come off as a little expensive if you put it on a Gensan average price. Their USDA Grade A rib-eye is P400 per 100 gram.
Other food is quite affordable compared to other restaurants though. Typically, truffle pasta is really expensive. Truffle oil used on this type of pasta is expensive. Usually truffle pasta costs around P200 and above but they sell it at P165. Creamy carbonara which is a favorite by many costs only P135 at their restaurant.

Their noodle dishes like sotanghon and pancit guisado costs only P245 and you get a big plate of it for sharing. Finger foods and solo meals are also affordable that it can accommodate college student price range budget. Finger foods and solo meals cost less than P100.

Family platters do not exceed P250 for mains and soup.

Review
Vine House is really new and just recently opened to the public so there might be some few adjustments on how they run things or the food they offer.
One of the things I found distracting was the lack of lighting in some parts of the garden. We went there on a rainy day and tents were placed. We were situated at the farthest corner near the big tree and the farther you got seated from the house – the less light you get. Either the light was blocked by the tent or there really were not enough light on the area. I think this can be easily improved by putting up or investing dining table lamps if hanging garden lights are not possible to place or if tents are placed during rainy nights blocking the garden lights.
I do appreciate the price range was catered for young people and is very student friendly. They do provide a good selection that is highly affordable. I quite enjoyed their creamy carbonara. Their truffle pasta was okay as well although I understand why it was more cream and only has less truffle aftertaste. It’s a good entry for trying truffle flavored food at a very low price.

I enjoyed their adobo, sotanghon, and buffalo wings. Their sotanghon provides good quantity for its price and was very flavorful. The noodle was not too soft as well. Their adobo, I would highly recommend ordering. It’s not salty but provides a good balance of flavor. It does come off like humba style adobo with pineapples. If you are into that type of cooking for adobo dishes, then highly recommond to order it. Their buffalo wings were also spicy and tangy. It was really enjoyable to munch on.

Other food we purchased did not have any lasting impression. It was not bad nor good. It was okay for the price you pay.
It is a great place for students and young professionals who are looking for a budget friendly restaurant and a great place to chill and hang out. They offer selection of drinks which, unfortunately, I was not able to try.
It’s a good addition to a list of restaurants you want to go to that is budget friendly but not a top candidate for top-notch culinary experience.
