Miss Bridgette, Aesthetic Cafe serving Coffee and Wine in Davao City

If you want to look for an upscale place in Davao to impress your date that offers a romantic vibe that serves both coffee and wine, then Miss Bridgette may be the place for you.

Miss Bridgette is a cafe that offers a great vibe conducive for an intimate dinner that will surely bring a memorable experience for you and your date. They offer coffee and wine which gives you more avenue for a longer discussion that doesn’t involve going to another location. They got it all covered.

They also provide cute cue cards on tables to help you open up and discuss fun topics with a date. Their menu offers selection of food fit for date nights.

Not only that, if you are looking for a place in the afternoon to spend reading a book or two or just study, it is also a good place as its ambiance is very laidback. They have a lot of socket to charge your laptop and tablet as well.

How to Get There

Miss Bridgette is lcoated in Tulip Drive and is situated near Weatherbee.

They are open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM everyday.

Their payment method is cash, Gcash, and accept credit/debit card payments.

The Place and The Ambiance

Miss Bridgette looks like an upscale looking restaurant with its beautiful aesthetic. With the choice of white paint for its interior, the place looks regal. It is also clean and very calming to the eyes. They ensured that the lighting is at its optimal making use of modern wall lamp lights which I think are called wall sconces.

The ambiance is very fit for couples on their first date. The place can be intimidating because of its interior aesthetic but it is something you can look forward to going to on a date night or if you and your friends are looking for a place to hang out with a fancy vibe to post on your social media.

The Spending

The spending can be quite expensive for young professionals or students but if you are going there to grab a cup of coffee then price is relatively same as the typical coffee shop in the market. Coffee and their beverages range from P120 to P220.

Personally, I think the price range is fit for date nights where you want to splurge a little. Their menu is limiting and you can select only few dishes but they do offer pasta, soup, pizza, sandwiches, appetizers and main course. Their price range can go from P180 to P980 pesos.

Pasta can range from P290 to P350. Pizza can range from P310 to P420. Sandwiches can range from P340 to P360. Appetizers are less expensive ranging from P180 to P230. Lastly, their main courses which are called Chef’s specials can cost around P340 to P980. These prices are mostly for single serving. The serving portion can be quite small as well.

They also offer cocktails and wines which is nice if you want to loosen up a bit.

Review

Miss Bridgette was an unexpected date night trip. Personally, I did enjoy the ambiance and it’s aesthetics but not quite with the food. Their cafe is really clean and pleasing to the eyes. Very calming and conducive for discussions. I also appreciated that they have this cute cue cards where you and your date can talk about things and get together more. The staff are generally nice and offered to let us borrow a charger to charge our phones.

The food selection can be limiting, food portion are small but enough to satiate hunger. However, I find it expensive for the portion size. We ordered matcha strawberry and strawberry lemonade for our drinks, fried cauliflower for appetizers, eggs benedicts, Italian sausage risotto, and sweet and spicy ribs for our main course.

I super enjoyed the fried cauliflower as it was not oily and very flavorful. It’s a nice appetizer that isn’t too heavy and nice to munch on while conversing with my partner. My partner enjoyed her order of Italian sausage risotto as she is a risotto fan. I did like the Italian sausage they used and find their risotto decent.

My disappointment came from my order which is the sweet and spicy ribs. I was expecting to have ribs on my plate but I was served with a slab of meat which resembles a thin “liempo” cut. The rice was super dry and served with scorched rice. The type of rice that gets stuck on your molars because it’s too dry and scorched. The rice was not freshly cooked and was not heated at the very least. I was also expecting something saucy because I was hoping for some ribs and rib meals are usually very saucy. I got served with meat that was really dry and it wasn’t flavorful enough for my liking.

As a big fan of eggs benedicts, I was happy to find out they also offered this. However, their eggs benedict is not as good as they do not have any hollandaise or at least if there were any it was very lightly lathered over the eggs. There was a small hint of zesty orange sauce which would have been nice if its taste were more prevalent.

Overall, I did enjoy my time if I only considered the ambiance and service of the staff. I can say it is a nice place to bring a date. As to their food, I find it expensive and lack the taste, quality, and portion to back the price. I would recommend not ordering their ribs as to not get disappointed. Next time, I’ll try their other dishes and hopefully have a better opinion of their food.
